Training

Tyler’s Place offers in house training for new employees who need the required certifications in order to work for a qualified vendor of the Division of Developmental Disabilities. CPR/First Aid

 

Good Samaritan Law, complications of CPR, stroke, heart attack, CPR barriers, choking, and CPR for the adult, child and infant. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), shock, bleeding, diabetes, asthma, anaphylaxis, seizures, internal and external injuries, burns, poisoning, bites and stings, heat emergencies and cold emergencies.

Each student will be required to practice hands-on CPR skills in this course.

Duration: Approximately 4 hours

This certification is valid for 2 years.

Audience: Anyone needing a certification that specifically states “CPR/First Aid”

Article 9

 

Arizona Administrative Code r6-6-901, commonly known as Article 9, is an Arizona law. This law relates to how the Divisions of Developmental Disabilities will proactively and positively support people’s positive and adaptive behavior. This course includes a clear definition of techniques that are prohibited from use at any time, techniques that require a division approved behavior plan and/or techniques that require no prior approval.
Course taught by a certified Article 9 Instructor.
Duration – Approximately 3 Hours
This certificate is valid for 3 years.

Direct Care Worker

 

DCW – 1:

Fundamentals of Caregiving
APT provides professional instruction in caregiving by state-approved instructors who provide up-to-date information, skills testing, and guidance for you to become a Direct Care Worker (DCW), as envisioned by the State of Arizona (azahcccs.gov and azdirectcare.org). All students earning a Direct Care Worker (DCW) certificate will be recognized by any caregiver employer in the state of Arizona. APT adheres to the Principles of Caregiving (azdirectcare.org) as the core of its Direct Care Worker (DCW) classes.
